Reorientation of the German Raw Materials Strategy – What is in the Federal Government’s Key Issues Paper

# 38

At the beginning of January, the Federal Government presented the key points for expanding Germany's raw materials strategy. In addition to binding recycling rates, sustainability standards and a raw material fund, it also refers to the role of mining for the climate crisis for the first time. In our current podcast episode, we take a closer look at the paper and clarify whether this is really a reason for joy. We also look at the situation in the Global South: The lawyer Vanessa Schaeffer-Manrique tells us from Peru what mining means for the people in the mining regions.
