With our expertise in trade, raw materials and energy policy, we show ways out of the climate crisis
Trade and investment policy
Global trade and investment policy has a huge impact on what our world looks like. Far too often, politics negotiates in a non-transparent manner and in the interests of global corporations. It ignores social interest groups and puts export growth above environmental and human rights standards. We are committed to a solidarity-environmental world trade and climate justice. To limit the climate crisis, we must fight for an environmentally and socially fairer trade and investment policy.
Raw materials policy
Mining and processing metals and minerals causes enormous environmental and human rights problems. While the risks and problems of extracting raw materials often occur in the countries of the Global South, the majority of products and profits flow to the Global North. We put the issue of raw materials on the political agenda beyond the industrial discourse on ‘security of supply’. In order to protect the environment, the climate and human rights, we must initiate a raw material transition.
Energy policy
Our mobility and energy consumption have a development dimension. For example, the raw materials for the necessary change processes in the Global North are often mined under poor human rights and ecological standards in the Global South. We deal with the far too high demand for raw materials and show how change can instead succeed in the long term. We provide critical support for the development of the hydrogen infrastructure. For climate justice, we need to initiate a mobility and energy transition.
