Danger to humans and the environment - What is in the Critical Raw Materials Act

 

In mid-March, the European Commission presented the draft of the Critical Raw Materials Act. The Raw Materials Act aims to ensure the supply of critical raw materials in the EU. In our latest podcast episode, we talk about why it falls short of civil society's expectations on some points and the dangers it poses to human rights and democratic participation. In addition, Carsten Alsleben from the Federal Environment Agency explains what effects the law could have on permitting procedures and the environment in the future.
