Dirty and dystopian - the EU-Trump trade deal

# 69

Behind closed doors, the EU and the US are negotiating a new trade agreement. The plans sound dystopian. Social and environmental standards, which the US has had to adhere to so far, are under attack. The EU would commit to investing billions in the US economy. At the same time, the agreement threatens to undermine democratic controls. Who benefits from this deal besides Trump? And what would it mean for consumers, climate and democracy in Europe? Nora Noll talks about this with Thomas Fritz, Trade Policy Officer at PowerShift.
