Metal trade: The blind spot in the supply chain

# 50
Cover image PowerShift Podcast Metalworking Steel Casting

When we think of (metallic) raw materials, we often think of the mines in which they are mined, the mining companies and the working conditions of the miners. Or to the companies and products in which these raw materials end up: Mobile phones, cars, wind turbines. Rarely do we talk about those who bring the metals from the mines to the factories: Commodity traders. Large companies with even larger revenues dominate the global commodity trade. Vanessa Fischer from PowerShift's raw materials team has researched how these traders trade. She tells our moderator Antonia Vangelista about the results in this podcast episode.
