In 2013, the EU's trade agreement with Colombia and Peru entered into force. Four years later, Ecuador joined the agreement. Even then, many civil society organisations drew attention to the dangers of such an agreement, while the EU stressed above all the opportunities it would offer for the economic development of South American countries. But what is the situation today? In our podcast we take stock: Has the agreement, with its sustainability chapter and a human rights clause, lived up to positive expectations over the last decade or has it led to more inequality and environmental problems? Answers to these questions are given by Enrique Daza from Colombia and Ana Romero from Peru.
