Podcast No. 20 – The EU-Mexico Trade Agreement – All Powers to...? Investors!

# 20

An Introduction to the EU-Mexico Trade Agreement

The renewed EU-Mexico trade agreement is expected to be the first to be voted on by the EU Council and Parliament in 2021. The EU and Mexico have been cooperating on a trade agreement since 2000. In this PodCast “EU-Mexico – All Power the...? Investors!" the two spokeswomen explained, Nelly Grotefendt of the Forum Environment and Development and Bettina Müller from PowerShift, what the old EU-Mexico agreement meant for the Latin American country and then analyse what the innovations in the updated trade agreement are. They also interview Mónica Vargas of the Transnational Institute, which organized the ToxiTour through Mexico at the end of 2018 and travelled with injured people to the branches of European companies that pollute the environment and disregard human rights in Mexico.
