South Africa has a rich supply of raw materials – many German companies also source their raw materials from there. The effects of colonialism and apartheid in the South African raw materials sector are still felt today. In our current podcast episodes we look at the responsibility of Germany. Thumeka Magwangqana from Sinethemba Marikana Women’s Collective and journalist Thapelo Lekgowa also report on how local people are doing and the impact of mining on them.
