Podcast No. 10 – Berlin streets for all!

# 10

Strangling drivers, parked cars, exhaust fumes - car traffic in our cities is increasing. And with him the problems. The CO2 emissions of the transport sector have been stagnating at far too high a level for decades. The registrations of SUVs have exploded. The car industry’s consumption of raw materials is increasing with more and heavier cars, with serious human rights and environmental consequences in the Global South.

What a sustainable transport transition at the Berlin level can look like, is the topic of our new podcast with Peter Fuchs, who introduces 7 demands: For example, the conversion of parking spaces into walking, cycling and public transport infrastructure as well as parks and green spaces. He also discusses the opportunities and challenges of the traffic turnaround in Berlin. Peter is co-founder of the ‘Berliner Strasse für alle’ alliance.
