On the occasion of the re-municipalisation of Vattenfall Wärme AG, the Berlin Renewable Alliance is calling for Berlin to receive genuinely climate-friendly district heating.
In Berlin, the heating sector is responsible for almost half of climate-damaging emissions, and Berlin has one of the largest district heating networks in Europe. Decarbonisation of district heating is therefore central to meeting climate targets. The Berlin Senate must now set the course for a renewable heat supply. We are committed to this task for reasons of both inner-city and international climate justice.
