The debate on binding human rights and environmental protection along the entire supply chain has gained momentum. Internationally as well as in Germany, legal regulations are disputed. Particular attention is paid to one country in the dispute: China.
If there were a supply chain law in Germany or the EU, but not in China, Chinese companies would be even better placed to compete – according to some industry associations in this country. However, supply chain responsibility is also being discussed in the People's Republic of China. With regard to the mining sector, this fact sheet presents some of the cornerstones of these two debates and develops proposals for a proactive cooperation policy.
