Highly hazardous pesticides for South America – the EU-Mercosur agreement

One of the consequences of the controversial EU-Mercosur agreement would be the increase in exports of highly hazardous pesticides from the EU to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay – pesticides that are not even authorised in the EU partly because of their harmfulness. Tariffs currently imposed by Mercosur on the import of pesticides will be eliminated by the agreement. This makes them cheaper. Large pesticide manufacturers, such as Bayer and BASF, will benefit from this.
That's why we at PowerShift e.V. #StopEUMercosur!
