The House of Statistics at Alexanderplatz (or ‘Allesandersplatz’ as the house calls it) is being renovated. Not only its utilisation concept is unusual – the building is also breaking new ground for future heating and cooling. It uses two sewers to benefit from their heat in winter and their cold in summer, both relative to the ambient temperature. The waste heat from IT systems is used as well as geothermal energy and solar power.
How does it work?
Let's look at that! On 6 September, PowerShift organises a guided tour of the building’s energy centre under the expert guidance of Berliner Stadtwerke – if the weather permits, also on the roof to the PV systems. We get to know the overall energy concept of the house and can discuss it with the project management who planned and implemented the energy supply of the house.
Seats for the tour are limited to 20 for organizational reasons. So sign up as soon as possible!
