Impact of EU trade agreements on smallholder agriculture in Latin America

The modernised EU free trade agreements with Mexico and Chile could be signed in the course of 2023, and the signing of the agreement with Mercosur countries Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay is also to be advanced. But these agreements would have a serious impact on local agriculture and food in Latin America.

The info poster shows the current agricultural trade of the EU with Mexico, Chile and the Mercosur countries, as well as the expected increase after the conclusion of the planned trade agreements. A large infographic illustrates the quantitative and qualitative impact on smallholder agriculture in Latin America.
