The AK Rohstoff is a network of more than 20 environmental, human rights and development organizations that has been committed to a social-ecological and global-fair raw materials policy, especially in the field of metals, since 2013. Such a policy on raw materials initiates a turnaround in raw materials, which strengthens the responsible use of raw materials and stops their waste. The AK brings together comprehensive expertise along the entire value chains of raw materials – from extraction to trade to processing and circularity. The member organisations are networked worldwide and in some cases work directly with partner organisations from resource-rich countries and with affected communities. In addition, the AK Raw Materials is in contact with academia, companies and trade unions to develop sustainable strategies.
