This year marks the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the first trade agreement between the European Union and a Latin American country, Mexico. It's time. Since then, almost all Latin American countries have signed trade agreements with the European Union. This year, the European Commission intends to sign two more agreements: the modernised agreement with Mexico and the agreement with Mercosur, which would be the largest in the history of the European Union and Latin America.
After a quarter of a century and in the face of the upcoming decisions, it is important to take stock. What have the existing agreements brought to the region? What conclusions can be drawn from this for the agreement with Mercosur and Mexico? We want to talk about this with representatives of South American and European civil society.
