The European Trade Justice Coalition is an association of development, environmental, human rights, women's and peasant organisations, trade unions, social movements and research institutes. The network was established after the 1999 World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference in Seattle to challenge the business-oriented trade agenda of the European Union and European governments. It has also developed in response to the growing need for European coordination between civil society organisations.
The network connects the entire European civil society and coordinates campaign activities at European level but also worldwide.
PowerShift is a founding member of the network and has been in the coordination group for a long time.
