Your voice counts: Save the Supply Chain Act with us
The European Commission wants to undermine the protection of human rights and the environment.
Talk to your MEPs in the European Parliament: Convince them to vote for the preservation of a strong supply chain law in the crucial vote in October.
This is what’s at stake:
The EU Supply Chain Directive (CSDDD) entered into force in July 2024. Despite some
Weaknesses are a milestone for a sustainable economy – and go far beyond the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) in crucial respects. As the German law has to adapt to the EU directive, it is strengthened – and can thus protect human rights, the environment and the climate even better.
Actually. Under Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission has now proposed a so-called omnibus package, which would result in massive weakening of the directive. There will be a vote in the European Parliament in October. That is why now is the decisive moment to start a conversation with MEPs and make it clear: Many people are behind the supply chain law.

Don't be afraid of the phone
MEPs sit in the European Parliament to represent the interests of their country’s citizens, including yours and mine. Therefore, it is not only important, but also completely legitimate, to seek direct conversation with them when a topic is particularly close to our hearts. This is lived democracy.
• The A and O: respect. The members of parliament and their staff are people like you and me. A respectful and polite relationship with each other is essential to have a constructive conversation, even if you disagree.
• If you can't answer an upcoming question, don't panic! You call as yourself – as a citizen who cares about protecting human rights and the environment. It is not necessary to be an expert in EU law to make your case heard.
Nevertheless, such a call can cost a lot of overcoming. They often follow
Conversations with a similar pattern:
You Hello, my name is [your name], I am an EU citizen from Germany and would like to talk to [name of the MEP].
Hello there. [name of Member of the European Parliament] is currently not available. Maybe I can help you? MEP
You I have read that the EU is discussing a weakening of the supply chain law. That worries me a lot. I would like to know what [name of MEP] says about this.
I'm sorry, but I don't have time for it, we've had a lot of calls on this topic. MEP
You But it's very important. Our economy needs to become more sustainable. And companies must not profit at the expense of workers on banana plantations in Ecuador or textile factories in Bangladesh. That's not fair.
That's true, but we also have to be careful not to burden companies too much. The Omnibus proposal only envisages simplifications. MEP
You For me, the plans sound more like a massive slowdown. For example, the law should only apply to much fewer companies. Many extremely large companies would then no longer have to pay attention to whether people in their supply chains are being exploited. It mustn't be.
That is an important argument. I will talk to Mr/Ms [name MEP] about this. MEP
You Thank you for listening to me. We must not lightly jeopardise the protection of human rights, the environment and the climate that has already been achieved.
Thank you for your voice for human rights and environmental protection – together we can save the Supply Chain Act!
