Berlin development policy advice

Logo Berlin development policy advice

We are a member of the Berlin Development Council (BER). BER is a network of 120 groups and associations active in development policy and the mouthpiece for people who work for global justice in Berlin. BER provides a platform for exchange and joint actions and, with seminars and consultations, qualifies principals and volunteers for their development policy work. BER is committed to Berlin's state policy for a sustainable Berlin in a globalized world and for a strong civil society.

The BER works on the topics Sustainable management, Migration and Diaspora, Climate and resource justice, Global learning and Decolonization.

The BER was created in 1996, when, in view of the massive cuts in the Berlin state budget, the development policy organisations joined together to form a working group in order to be able to represent their interests together. The network has been a registered association since 1998. Just as BER acts as a regional network of development policy groups in Berlin, there is an independent regional network in each federal state.
