Webinars on Regulatory Cooperation in TTIP – Part 1: General information and introduction
Date: Thursday, 19
th November, 5 – 6:30 pm (CET)
Target group: Activists and campaigners
Registration via: GotoWebinar The Seattle to Brussels Network and its members PowerShift, Corporate Europe Observatory and the Forum Umwelt und Entwicklung are hosting a series of Webinars on the much disputed subject of Regulatory Cooperation. As one of the central topics around TTIP negotiations, this project aims to “harmonize” regulations in the USA and the EU.
What seems to be a harmless provision actually poses a major threat to democratic legislature and public interest: regulations will be primarily assessed with respect to possible impacts on transatlantic trade, while environment, worker’s and consumers’ protection won’t be given due consideration.
In our Webinars we will shed some light on Regulatory Cooperation in general and its consequences in certain sectors. We will also provide you with the necessary arguments for your campaigning activities.
We are looking forward to your participation!
Please note that participation is not required for the series as a whole but only for one date at a time. Here you’ll find the detailed program for the fist session. Outlook on Webinars to come (tbc)
