In the meantime, the European Union has concluded trade agreements with almost all Latin American countries or is seeking their rapid ratification, as in the case of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement. Bettina M\u00fcller, Head of Trade and Investment Policy at PowerShift, has examined the various agreements and draws a sobering conclusion. Prosperity, economic growth, good jobs and environmental protection? Misrepresentation. These are empty words used to justify trade structures that primarily serve export-oriented companies.
