Rallyes in Berlin and Hamburg on the occasion of Javier Milei's visit to Germany
Berlin, 19 June: On the occasion of the official visit of Argentine President Javier Milei to Germany from 22 to 23 June, rallies and protests will take place in Hamburg and Berlin on Saturday, 22 June. These are part of the "Anti-Milei Month/Mes Anti-Milei" already proclaimed at the end of May, which is organised by civil society organisations of the network of fair world trade and groups of the Latin American diaspora such as the Asamblea en Solidaridad con Argentina en Berlin and the Bloque Latinoamericano. The protest is directed against Milei's government policy in Argentina, the reception by the Federal Chancellor and the imminent conclusion of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement.

The right-wing extremist president of Argentina, Javier Milei, who describes himself as an ‘anarcho-capitalist’, will come to Germany from 22 to 23 June. On 22 June, he will be awarded the Hayek Medal in Hamburg for his ‘intrepid advocacy for individual self-determination and free markets’. The Hayek Society has been criticized for years for its proximity to the AfD. On June 23, Milei will be received by Chancellor Olaf Scholz with a military parade. A broad alliance of more than 30 Argentine and German civil society organizations addressed Olaf Scholz in advance with an open letter to express their concern and outrage at the meeting.
